Rootclip 1.0
The initial version of Rootclip was built by a video player vendor and was quickly set up as a proof of concept. The interface worked but lacked some important features.
It was never clear how much time remained for a contest and where to submit a video or how the overall contest worked and how the user could become involved.
Working within the previously developed framework I restyled much of the CSS and designed and coded the new navigation, header and contest countdown. I modified the overall styling to feel a little more high-gloss and stylish and added a prominent chapter countdown and video submission button. I also incorporated a step-by-step walkthrough of the basics of the site on the homepage to allow the user to quickly grasp the fundamental concept.
